After four albums of expansive pastoral beauty, "Inside", SBJ's second US release, is the first album to document his recent experimental folk expeditions. Recorded solo with no overdubs, "Inside" develops via a meditative and minimalist approach. Hypnotizing soundscapes emerge, building in a somewhat percussive raga-like manner. "Inside" stands apart as a singular suite of minimal-trance for solo acoustic guitar. RIYL: John Fahey, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Roy Montgomery, Sandy Bull, Robbie Basho.
