[Over the last few weeks Mail Order Maven Joel Brazzel has asked members of the K staff to create Staff Playlists for the K Mail Order Dept. This week he compiled his Staff Playlist, of K songs that have meant the mostest to him over the years. If anyone knows the K catalogue, it is Joel Brazzel, he’s been living amidst it for nine years! He launches the artists on their tours, and greets them upon their return. His K Staff Playlist is available as individual digital downloadables or as a full album download.]

Says Joel: "K was established in 1982, just 2 years before I was.  I've been a big fan for over 1/2 of my life & ended up working at K for over a 1/3 of my life.  Because of the diversity & uh.... (Angelo Spencer is wailing some horror movie noise in the studio beneath me & I forgot what I was saying)... umm OH YEAH, because of the talent & diversity of the artists who have worked with K over the years it is very challenging to create just one playlist of material that K has released upon the world.  There is much to explore.  "A conspiracy of gravediggers, spies, swim instructors and international pop stars," indeed!  The connections between artists, friends, places & other labels runs deep.  I've never been good at having interesting themes, instead I've just mixed it up a bit until the only real theme here is K.  These are all tunes that have been special to me over the years.  K is the kind of place where you put something up on the wall & there it will stay, no matter how silly it may be.  There are anthems, classics, ballads, jams & straight up hits!"
