On the second LAKE album released by, Let’s Build a Roof [KLP213], was a song, “Gravel” (sang by Lindsay Schief) that struck musical dilettante andhanger-on Selector Dub Narcotic as being particularly appropriate for a Dub Narcotic Disco Plate - that being a variety of 7” 45 rpm phonograph record featuring a hit-bound song by an artist on one side, which is then re-mixed on the flipside by the aforementioned Selector Dub Narcotic. He convinced Lindsay and the band to re-record a version of “Gravel” just for this purpose, and this week The K Singles Zip-Pakfeatures the results:

3. Backwards and Forwards
This recent number was recorded in June 2011 at a "dudes-only" LAKE session, one of many partial- and full-band sessions held regularly at Dub Narcotic Studio. "Backwards and Forwards" features Mark Morrison on drums, Andrew Dorsett on bass and piano (though not at the same time), and Eli Moore on guitar and vocals. Ashley was in Sweden at the time of this recording; Lindsay's location remains a mystery.
