Karl Blau is the most active member of the Dub Narcotic Studio Patrol, producing a diversity of artists including LAKE, Arrington de Dionyso's Malaikat dan Singa, the Hive Dwellers, the Curious Mystery and Angelo Spencer et les Hauts Summits. And, of course, Karl Blau. His last few albums were recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio including, Zebra [KLP205]. It was a natural step for Karl Blau to record a Dub Narcotic Disco Plate, on which he played all the instruments:

1. Golden Chariot

Karl Blau has provided us with the lyrics to "Golden Chariot":

Oh, I've got to know where you stand
Since you've not said anything
I won't know if I can trust in you
But I'd really like to
You can use your words

You can use your words to quiet these Arms
I'm afraid keeping silent won't feed anyone
And keeps No One from harm

If you don't feel a change
That's either caused by the time you were born
Or that these blinders you've always worn kept you warm

"Silence is Golden"
We ride in a Golden Chariot
All the way to heaven where No One imposes
And those who suffer keep to themselves

Am I still making this up?
Still way more money for bombs than food for hungry mouths
And if we make a great big pot of soup
Do the math, better do the math
Open up and say "Aaaaah"

Oh, I've got to know where you stand
Since you've not said anything
I won't know if I can trust in you
But I would really like to
You can use your words

"I've got to know, I've just got to know where you stand"

A different recording (also completed at Dub Narcotic Studio) of "Golden Chariot" is included on Karl Blau's EP Max [KLP227]. Selector Dub Narcotic was given not only the supervisory role recording the Dub Narcotic Disco Plate of "Golden Chariot" [DBN120] (providing emergency late-night peanut butter sandwiches), he also did a remix for the flipside:

2. Dub Chariot

This edition of the Singles Zip-Pak features Special Apps not available on the "Golden Chariot" Dub Narcotic Disco Plate 45 rpm record:

3. Afrikan Whistle Pig

This song was recorded at the same sessions as the Zebra album. Karl Blau played all the instruments on "Afrikan Whistle Pig" including marimba, xylophone, electric bass guitar, synthesizer and drums. Appropriately enough, he also whistled.
